Removal ProcedureInstallation Procedure

    CAUTION: Do not allow smoking or the use of open flames in the area where work on the fuel or EVAP system is taking place. Anytime work is being done on the fuel system, disconnect the negative battery cable, except for those tests where battery voltage is required.
  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Disconnect the front fuel hose from the fuel rail.

  4. Lift and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Disconnect the front fuel hose from the fuel pipe.

  7. Disconnect the rear fuel hose from the fuel pipe.

  9. Remove the fuel pipe mounting plastic bolt.

  11. Remove the fuel pipe mounting screws and cover.
  12. Remove the fuel pipe.

  14. Remove the fuel pump access cover. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .

  16. Disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel pump.

  18. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  19. Remove rear fuel hose.
