Installation Procedure

  1. Position the generator to the engine.
  2. Loosely install the generator bolts.
  3. Install the idler pulley. Refer to INSTALLATION PROCEDURE .
    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Tighten the generator bolts in the sequence shown in Fig 2.

    Tightening torque 

    Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the drive belt. Refer to INSTALLATION PROCEDURE .
  6. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the generator.

  7. Install the positive battery cable terminal to the generator.
  8. Install the positive battery cable nut at the generator.

    Tightening torque 

    Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft). 

  9. Position the positive battery cable boot at the generator terminal.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to INSTALLATION PROCEDURE .
