ESP® Hydraulic Unit/Control Module Assembly Power Supply and Ground Circuit Check: Troubleshooting

ESP® HYDRAULIC UNIT/CONTROL MODULE SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING REFERENCE CHART

Step Action YES NO
Check fuse 
Are main fuses and circuit fuses for ESP® in good condition? 
Go to Step 2. Replace fuse and check for short circuit to ground.
Check ESP® control module power supply circuit 
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Disconnect ESP® control module connector.
  3. Check for proper connection to ESP® control module connector at terminals "E08-8", "E08-14", "E08-1", "E08-26" and "E08-38".
  4. If OK, then turn ignition switch to ON position and measure voltage between terminal "E08-8" and vehicle body ground.

Is voltage less than 10 V? 
Go to Step 3. "GRN/ORN" circuit open.
Check pump motor and solenoid valve power supply circuit 
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Measure voltage between each terminals of "E08-1", "E08-26" and vehicle body ground.

Are voltage less than 10 V? 
Go to Step 4. "WHT/BLU" and/or "WHT/RED" circuit open.
Check ESP® hydraulic unit/control module assembly ground circuit 
  1. Measure resistance between each terminal of "E08-14", "E08-38" and vehicle body ground.

Is resistance less than 2 Ω? 
ESP® hydraulic unit/control module assembly power supply and ground circuits are in good condition. "BLK" circuit open or high resistance.
