Module - Restraint Control - Remove And Replace: Install

  1. Position the new RCM on the vehicle, and then install new nuts (x3) that attach the RCM to the vehicle.
    NOTE: 10 mm, 10 N.m

  2. Connect the electrical harnesses (x2) to the RCM.
    NOTE: Close the locking arms. Install the LH connector first.

  3. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) .
  4. Redeploy the vehicle firmware. See Firmware Reinstall - Toolbox .
  5. While the firmware is redeploying, reinstall all parts that were removed for access. See Bracket - Toeboard - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  6. Once firmware redeploy is complete, re-establish the Toolbox 3 connection to the vehicle.
  7. Select Actions/Autodiag  and search for "RCM Tasks".
  8. Select RCM Airbag and Sensors Service Tasks  , click Run  , and allow the routine to complete.
    NOTE: Select 'X' at top right of window to close once passed and complete.
  9. Disconnect Toolbox 3 from the vehicle and remove the laptop and ethernet diag kit.
  10. Move LH front seat to original position
