Module - Restraint Control - Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Remove the center console. See Center Console (Remove and Install) .
  2. Release the harness clip (x1) and tabs (x4) that attach the center console support bracket to the vehicle, and then carefully slide the bracket forward to remove it from the vehicle.

  3. Release the locking levers, and then disconnect the electrical harness from the restraint control module.
    WARNING: Make sure 12V power has been disconnected for at least 2 minutes before disconnecting the electrical harness from the restraint control module. Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system behaviors.

  4. Remove and discard the nuts (x3) that attach the restraint control module to the body, and then remove the module from the vehicle.
    NOTE: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
    • 1/4 in std ratchet
    • 1/4 in torque wrench (installation only)
