Disable Service Mode
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2020 Tesla Model S, 2019 Tesla Model S, 2018 Tesla Model S, 2017 Tesla Model S, and 2016 Tesla Model S. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Disable Service Mode using either a laptop with Toolbox 3 or the vehicle touchscreen.
- Touchscreen
- On the vehicle touchscreen, touch CONTROLS (vehicle icon) > SERVICE MODE > EXIT SERVICE MODE
at the top of the Service Mode menu.NOTE: The red "SERVICE MODE" overlay or red touchscreen border is removed.
- Return to the procedure that required Service Mode to be disabled.
- On the vehicle touchscreen, touch CONTROLS (vehicle icon) > SERVICE MODE > EXIT SERVICE MODE
at the top of the Service Mode menu.
- Laptop with Toolbox 3
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 - Connect and Disconnect .
- Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock .
- In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Service" into the search field, click PROC_ICE_X_EXIT-SERVICE-MODE, click Run, and then allow the routine to complete.
- Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 - Connect and Disconnect
- Return to the procedure that required Service Mode to be disabled.
