Module - Body Controller - Front - Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Open the LH front door.
  2. Lower the LH front window.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
  4. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  5. Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace) .
  6. Remove the underhood storage unit access panel. See Underhood Storage Unit Access Panel (Remove and Replace) .
  7. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace) .
  8. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect And Connect) .
  9. Disconnect the front body controller module upper locking connectors (x2).
    NOTE: Push in the locking tabs, and then lift the levers to release the connectors.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Plastic trim tool

  10. Disconnect the front body controller module LH middle locking connector.
    NOTE: Push in the locking tab, and then lift the lever to release the connector.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Plastic trim tool

  11. Disconnect the front body controller module RH middle locking connectors (x2).
    NOTE: Slide the locking mechanism outwards to release connector.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Plastic trim tool

  12. Disconnect the front body controller module lower locking connectors (x2).
    NOTE: Slide the red locking tab outwards to release the connector.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Plastic trim tool

  13. Remove the bolt that attaches the front body controller module ground cable to the vehicle.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 4 in extension
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

  14. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the front body controller module to the vehicle.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 4 in extension
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

  15. Release the locating tabs (x2) that attach the front body controller module to the vehicle, and then remove the module and ground cable from the vehicle.
