Front Drive Unit Assembly - Ground Straps, Front Drive Unit - Remove And Replace: Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. See RAISE VEHICLE - 2 STANDS .
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD TRIM - REAR APRON ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Disconnect the LV power. See LV BATTERY - LI-LON - DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See 2ND ROW SEAT ASSEMBLIES - 2ND ROW SEAT CUSHION - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Perform Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure. See VEHICLE HV DISABLEMENT PROCEDURE .
- Remove the front aero shield panel. See FRONT UNDERTRAY - MODEL 3/Y, FRONT AERO SHIELD - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the bolt that attaches the front drive unit HV harness to the front drive unit.NOTE: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
- Put on HV insulating gloves to release the locking tab to unlock the front drive unit HV harness connector. Slowly unlatch the release handle on the front drive unit HV harness connector, and then disconnect the connector from the front drive unit.CAUTION: Do not apply excessive force to the handle; doing so could damage the connector alignment tabs.
- Remove the bolt that attaches the front drive unit ground strap to the front drive unit.NOTE: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
- Use a clip prytool to release the clip that attaches the front drive unit ground strap to the front drive unit.
- Remove the bolt that attaches the front drive unit ground strap to the HV battery, and then remove the ground strap from the vehicle.NOTE: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 10 mm socket (for installation only)
- Ratchet/torque wrench (for installation only)
