Corolla & Pickup
- Check system with cold engine. On Corolla, ensure coolant temperature is less than 122°F (50°C).
- For Pickup, ensure coolant temperature is less than 131°F (55°C). On all models, remove air cleaner. Start engine. Pinch AAP vacuum hose and stop engine. See Figure.
- Release AAP vacuum hose. Check that gasoline sprays out of accelerator pump nozzle. Repeat procedure with engine at operating temperature.
- With engine at operating temperature, check that gasoline does not spray out of accelerator pump nozzle. If AAP system does not function as described, proceed to AAP DIAPHRAGM TESTING.
