Turbocharging Pressure Sensor - Sensor Test
- Disconnect harness connector from Turbocharging Pressure Sensor. Connect a series of three 1.5-volt dry-cell batteries together with a wire lead at each end. Connect the positive lead to terminal No. 3 of the sensor. Connect the negative lead to terminal No. 1 of the sensor.
- Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal No. 2 (center terminal). Connect the negative lead of the voltmeter to terminal No. 1. Voltage reading between terminals No. 1 and 2 should be approximately 2.4 volts. See. Fig 1.
- Using a vacuum pump, apply 7.87 in. Hg. (26.7 kPa) of vacuum to the sensor. Check that the voltage drops below 2.4 volts.
- Using Pressure Pump (09992-00241), apply 7.1 psi (4.9 kPa) of pressure to the sensor. Voltage should rise approximately 2.4 volts. If voltage readings do not respond as specified, replace the Turbocharging Pressure Sensor.
