Ignition System: Distributor: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable. Remove air cleaner hose. Disconnect distributor electrical connector. Disconnect ventilation hoses. Disconnect spark plug wires from spark plugs and ignition coil.
  2. Remove distributor cap with spark plug wires attached. Scribe mark from distributor flange to engine for reassembly reference. Remove distributor hold-down bolt. Remove distributor. Remove "O" ring from distributor shaft and discard.
