Test 4: Speed Sensor Circuit
- Perform VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR test under CRUISE CONTROL CIRCUIT FUNCTION TEST . If speed sensor input signal is specified, go to test for next trouble code displayed. If input signals are not as specified, go to next step.
- Locate speed sensor on transaxle and remove speed sensor. Disconnect 3-pin connector. Connect positive battery lead to sensor terminal No. 1 (Red/Blue wire). Connect negative battery lead to sensor terminal No. 2 (Red/Green wire). Connect voltmeter positive lead to sensor terminal No. 3 (Red/Yellow wire) and voltmeter negative lead to sensor terminal No. 2. Ensure a change of 0-11 volts or more occurs as sensor shaft is rotated. Voltage should change 20 times per each rotation. If sensor operation is not as specified, replace sensor.
- If continuity is not present, repair open or short in harness circuit between CC ECU connector terminal No. 20 (Violet/White wire) and speed sensor or between combination meter Blue 13-pin connector terminal No. A9 (Violet/White wire) and speed sensor.
