Ignition System: Distributor: Overhaul

Only distributor cap and rotor are serviceable. Remove heat shield, distributor cap, "O" ring and rotor from distributor. To check pick-up coils, see PICK-UP COIL RESISTANCE and PICK-UP COIL AIR GAP under IGNITION CHECKS (DISTRIBUTOR TYPE IGNITION SYSTEM) in BASIC TESTING article. Pick-up coils and distributor must be replaced as an assembly if defective.
