Supercharger Pressure
- Using 3-way connector, connect Pressure Gauge/Pump (SST 0992-00241) between intake manifold and fuel pressure regulator. See Fig 2. Connect scan tester to data link connector No. 3 to monitor engine RPM. See IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE in ADJUSTMENTS
article.
- Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Allow engine to idle. Apply brakes and parking brake. Block all wheels. Shift transmission into Drive. Fully depress throttle until engine speed is 1900-2200 RPM (torque converter stall speed) and note supercharger pressure. Release throttle.
- Supercharger pressure should be at least 4 psi (.28 kg/cm2
) at torque converter stall speed. If supercharger pressure is less than specified, check supercharger by-pass valve. See SUPERCHARGER BY-PASS VALVE under SUPERCHARGER. If supercharger by-pass valve is okay, check for damage to supercharger.
