Vehicle Access Code Programming
NOTE:
Ensure key is not in ignition switch. Open and unlock driver's door. Close and lock other doors. Add mode allows for adding a maximum of 4 additional remote transmitters. Attempting to program any additional remote transmitters will cause the first remote transmitter that was programmed to be erased. Rewrite erases previous codes on all remote transmitters and recodes them. Prohibition mode disables keyless door lock function by erasing all remote transmitter codes. Confirmation code is used to determine how many remote transmitters are currently programmed.
- Perform this step in 40 seconds or less: Insert key in ignition switch, then pull out. Lock and unlock door lock control switch on door panel 5 times at about one-second intervals. Close, then open driver's door.
- Perform this step in 40 seconds or less: Lock and unlock door lock control switch 5 times at about one-second intervals. Insert key in ignition switch. To put system in add mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position one time. Turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position 2 times for rewrite mode, 3 times for confirmation mode, or 5 times for prohibition mode at about one-second intervals. Remove key from ignition switch.
- Within 3 seconds or less, multiplex (MPX) body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation once to inform operator that add mode has been selected. MPX body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation twice at one-second intervals to inform operator that rewrite mode has been selected, 3 times for confirmation, and 5 times for prohibition mode.
- Within 20 seconds, press any one of 3 remote transmitter buttons for more than one second. MPX body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation 1-4 times at 2-second intervals to inform operator the number of registered codes. When no registered codes are programmed, the light flashes 5 times at 2-second intervals. Press any switch on remote transmitter. If LOCK/UNLOCK occurs once, registration of vehicle access code is completed.
- After programming is completed, registration of vehicle access code is completed 40 seconds after MPX body ECU response, driver's door is closed, key is inserted in ignition switch, or 4 types of recognition codes are registered at one time.
