One Power Door Lock Does Not Work

  1. Testing Power Door Lock Motor & Circuit

    Remove door panel of affected door lock. Using fused jumper wires, apply battery voltage and ground to appropriate door lock terminals and observe door lock operation. See Figure. See DOOR LOCK MOTOR TEST  table. If door lock operates as specified, go to next step. If door lock does not operate as specified, replace door lock assembly and retest.
    DOOR LOCK MOTOR TEST

    Door Apply B+ Voltage To Terminal No. Apply Ground To Terminal No. Result
    LF 1 2 Unlock
    2 1 Lock
    RF 5 6 Unlock
    6 5 Lock
    LR 1 2 Unlock
    2 1 Lock
    RR 4 3 Unlock
    3 4 Lock
  2. Check for open/short circuits in pertinent wiring between affected door lock motor, body control ECU, or individual door ECUs on front doors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary and retest system.
