Problem Symptoms Table

If a normal code is displayed during the DTC check although the problem still occurs, check the circuits for each problem symptom in the order given in the table below and proceed to the relevant troubleshooting page.

NOTE: When replacing ABS ECU, sensor or etc., turn the ignition switch OFF.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM WITH EBD - PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

Symptom Suspected Area Refer To
ABS does not operate Only when 1 to 4 are all normal but problem still occurs, replace ABS ECU
  1. Check DTC reconfirming that normal code is output
  2. IG power source circuit
  3. Speed sensor circuit
  4. Check ABS actuator with a TOYOTA hand-held tester If abnormal, check hydraulic circuit for leak
  1. PRE-CHECK 
  2. DTC C1241/41: IG POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT

  4. ABS ACTUATOR
ABS does not operate efficiently Only when 1 to 4 are all normal but problem still occurs, replace ABS ECU
  1. Check DTC reconfirming that normal code is output

  3. Stop light switch circuit
  4. Check ABS actuator with a TOYOTA hand-held tester If abnormal, check hydraulic circuit for leak (See page DI-306)
