Steering Sensor: Replacement

  1. Precaution (See  AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  )  .
  2. Separate battery negative terminal (See  AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  )  .
  3. Place front wheels facing straight ahead  .
  4. Remove horn button assy  .

    (See  OVERHAUL  )  .

  5. Remove steering wheel assy  .

    (See  OVERHAUL  )  .

  6. Remove steering column LWR cover (See  OVERHAUL  )  .
  7. Remove spiral cable sub-assy  .

    (See  SPIRAL CABLE  )  .

  8. Remove steering sensor  .
  9. Install steering sensor  .
  10. Place front wheels facing straight ahead  .
  11. Install spiral cable sub-assy  .

    (See  SPIRAL CABLE  )  .

  12. Install steering column LWR cover (See  OVERHAUL  )  .
  13. Center spiral cable (See  SPIRAL CABLE  )  .
  14. Install steering wheel assy  .

    (See  OVERHAUL  )  .

  15. Inspect steering wheel center point  .
  16. Install horn button assy  .

    (See  OVERHAUL  )  .

  17. Inspect SRS warning light (See  AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CHECK  )  .
