Input Shaft Assembly: Inspection

Using a dial indicator, measure bushing inside diameter on both sides of planetary sun gear. See Figure and Figure . Standard diameter should be 1.005-1.006" (25.53-25.55 mm). Maximum diameter is 1.008" (25.60 mm). Ensure there are no burnt spots or scratches on bushing. If bushing inside diameter exceeds specification, replace planetary sun gear. Check needle roller bearing for burnt spots, deformation or play due to wear. Replace as necessary.
