Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FUSE (ECU-B) 
    1. Remove the fuse from the instrument panel J/B.
    2. Check the continuity of the fuse.

      Standard: Continuity

    1. NG: REPLACE FUSE 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. CHECK TVIP ECU 
    1. Disconnect the TVIP ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage between the terminals of the ECU connector, as shown in the illustration and table.

      Standard: 

      VOLTAGE RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Symbols (Terminal No.) Specified condition
      +B1 (T3-2) <=> E (T3-29) 10 - 14 V
      E (T3-29) <=> Body ground 0 V

    1. NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TVIP ECU <=> BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the TVIP ECU connector.
    2. Check the connector on the harness side, as shown in the illustration and table.

      Standard: 

      CONTINUITY SPECIFICATION

      E (T3-29) <=> Body ground Continuity

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE TVIP ECU (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  )
