Power Mirror Control System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Check the mirror switch continuity.
      1. Left side for left/right adjustment switch:

        Measure the resistance of the mirror switch.

        Standard (Left side): 

        CONDITION RESISTANCE

        Tester Connection Mirror Switch Position Specified Condition
        - OFF 10 kΩ or higher
        4 - 8
        6 - 7
        UP Below 1Ω
        4 - 7
        6 - 8
        DOWN Below 1Ω
        5 - 8
        6 - 7
        LEFT Below 1Ω
        5 - 7
        6 - 8
        RIGHT Below 1Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.

      2. Right side for left/right adjustment switch:

      Measure the resistance of the mirror switch.

      Standard (Right side): 

      CONDITION RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Mirror Switch Position Specified Condition
      - OFF 10kΩ or higher
      3 - 8
      6 - 7
      UP Below 1Ω
      3 - 7
      6 - 8
      DOWN Below 1
      2 - 8
      6 - 7
      LEFT Below 1Ω
      2 - 7
      6 - 8
      RIGHT Below 1Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.

  2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    2. Inspect the mirror motor operation.
      1. Apply battery voltage as shown in the table.

      Standard: 

      BATTERY CONNECTION SPECIFICATION

      Battery Connection Mirror Operation
      Positive (+) -MV(3)
      Negative (-) -Com(2)
      TURNS UPWARD (A)
      Positive (+) -Com(2)
      Negative (-) -MV(3)
      TURNS DOWNWARDS (B)
      Positive (+) -Com(2)
      Negative(-) -MH(1)
      Turns left (C)
      Positive (+) -MH(1)
      Negative (-) -Com(2)
      Tums right (D)

    If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.

  3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    2. Inspect the mirror motor operation.
      1. Apply battery voltage as shown in the table.

      Standard: 

      BATTERY CONNECTION SPECIFICATION

      Battery Connection Mirror Operation
      Positive (+) -MV(3)
      Negative (-) -Com(2)
      Turns upward (A)
      Positive (+) -Com (2)
      Negative (-) -MV
      Tums downward (B)
      Positive (+) -Com(2)
      Negative (-) -MH(1)
      Turns right (D)
      Positive (+) -MH(1)
      Negative (-) -Com(2)
      Turns left (C)

    If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
