Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK MANUAL DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. Check that the manual door lock function operates normally.

      OK: Manual door lock function operates normally. 

    1. NG: Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. READ DATA LIST (LOCK SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and press the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the items below in the DATA LIST and read the displays on the hand-held tester.

      Smart key ECU:

      OK: ON (lock switch is pushed) appears on the screen. 

    1. NG: Go to STEP3 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

      REPLACE SMART KEY ECU ASSY 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA LH - SMART KEY ECU ASSY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect E8 antenna connector.
    2. Disconnect S11 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      E8-3 (TRG+) - S11-5 (TSW1) Below 1 Ω
      E8-1 (TRG-) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      E8-3 (TRG+) or S11-5 (TSW1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. INSPECT ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA LH (See  INSPECTION   ) 
    1. NG: REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

      REPLACE SMART KEY ECU ASSY
