Crankshaft Position Sensor: Removal

  1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (See appropriate step(s) under  REPLACEMENT  ). 
  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See appropriate step(s) under  COOLANT  ). 
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  4. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the radiator assembly (See appropriate step(s) under REMOVAL ).
  5. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. DISCONNECT COMPRESSOR WITH PULLEY ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the sensor connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and sensor.
