Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Remove the steering pad switch assembly.
- Check the continuity between terminal 2 (DIST) and 4 (ECC) of steering pad switch assembly connector when distance control switch is operated.
Resistance
STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLYSwitch position Specified condition Distance control switch is ON Below 1Ω Distance control switch is OFF 10 kΩ or higher HINT:
When a malfunction is found on the distance control switch, replace the steering pad switch assembly.
NG: REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the distance control ECU and the steering pad switch assembly (See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS ).
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
- Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the steering pad switch assembly and body ground (See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS ).
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT DISTANCE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
- Remove the distance control ECU with connector.
- Ignition switch ON.
- Measure the voltage between terminal MODE (D2-16) of the distance control ECU and body ground, when distance control switch is operated.
Voltage
