Steering Angle Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    1. Align the locating pins, attach the 6 claws and install the sensor to the spiral cable.
  2. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  )

  3. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  4. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. POSITION SPIRAL CABLE  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL TILT LEVER BRACKET (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. INSPECT STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the steering pad (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
    NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  13. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see CHECK MODE PROCEDURE ).
