How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

NOTE:
  • DTCs for the CAN communication system are as follows: U0073/42, U0100/65
  • Refer to troubleshooting of each system if DTCs regarding the CAN communication system are not output.
  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
    • GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

    • GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC 
    • GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. CHECK CAN BUS LINE 
    1. Check CAN bus line (see INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ).
  5. CHECK INTELLIGENT TESTER VIA CAN VIM 
    1. Select "BUS CHECK" (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).

      Result 

      INTELLIGENT TESTER VIA CAN VIM

      Result Proceed
      All ECUs connected to CAN communication system are displayed. A
      An ECU not connected to CAN communication system is displayed. B
      NOTE: Non-installed ECUs are not displayed. Do not mistaken the ECU to be having a communication stop malfunction.

    B: COMMUNICATION STOP MODE TABLE 

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  6. DTC COMBINATION TABLE 
    1. Confirm trouble according to the combination of output DTCs regarding the CAN communication system.

      HINT:

      Previous CAN communication system DTCs may be the cause if CAN communication system DTCs are output and all ECUs connected to the CAN communication system are displayed on the intelligent tester's "BUS CHECK" screen via CAN VIM.

  7. CIRCUIT INSPECTION 
    • GO TO NEXT STEP 
  8. IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEM 
    • GO TO NEXT STEP 
  9. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
    • GO TO NEXT STEP 
  10. CONFIRMATION TEST 
    • END
