DTC Check/Clear

NOTE: When the diagnosis system is changed from the normal mode to check mode or vice versa, all OTCs and freeze frame data recorded in normal mode are erased. Before changing modes, always check and make a note of DTCs and freeze frame data.

HINT:

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn the tester ON.
    4. Enter the following menus:
      1. Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
      2. Techstream - Select: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check the DTC (s) and freeze frame data, and then write them down.
    6. Check the details of the DTC (s) (see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  ).
  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn the tester ON.
    4. Enter the following menus:
      1. Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DTC INFO.
      2. Techstream - Select: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC / Trouble Codes.
    5. Erase the DTCs.
  3. CLEAR DTC (Without using the intelligent tester or Techstream) 
    1. Perform either of the following operations:
      1. Disconnect the negative battery cable for more than 1 minute.
      2. Remove the EFI NO. 1 fuse from the engine room relay block located inside the engine compartment for more than 1 minute.
