Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step 1 when using a intelligent tester and start from step  2 when not using a intelligent tester.

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (SKID CONTROL BUZZER) 
    1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Select the item "VSC H/B Warning Buzzer" in the Active Test and operate the skid control buzzer on Techstream.

      ABS/VSC/TRAC 

      ABS/VSC/TRAC - ACTIVE TEST

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic note
      VSC H/B Warning Buzzer Turns VSC/BRAKE warning buzzer ON/OFF Buzzer can be heard
    4. Check that the buzzer sounds/stops when the skid control buzzer is turned on/off by using Techstream.
      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed To
      Buzzer sounds/stops A
      Buzzer does not sound or sounds constantly B

    A: CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    B: Go to Next Step 

  2. INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Measure the voltage.

      Standard 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      V7-2 - Body ground 10 to 14 V
    4. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    5. Reconnect the skid control buzzer connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage to terminals 1 and 2 of the skid control buzzer connector, and check that the buzzer sounds.

      OK: The skid control buzzer sound should be heard. 

    3. Reconnect the skid control buzzer connector.

    NG: REPLACE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.
    3. Measure the resistance.

      Standard 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S1-30 (BZ) - V7-1 Below 1 Ω
      S1-30 (BZ) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the skid control buzzer connector.
    5. Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID
