Ignition Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the resistance.
      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard resistance 

        IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

        Condition Tester Connection Standard
        LOCK Between all terminals 10 k ohms or higher
        ACC 2-4 Below 1 ohms
        ON 1-2-4 Below 1 ohms
        5-6
        START 1-3-4 Below 1 ohms
        5-6-7
