Fail-Safe Chart

  1. FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION 
    1. When communication fails in any of the main wires (communication lines) due to a short circuit or other causes, the fail-safe function, which is specified for each system, operates to prevent the system from malfunctioning.
    2. The table below shows the effects on each system when communication is impossible. For further details, refer to each system.

    If the wheel speed malfunction is 1 wheel or more and 3 wheels or less, only when the wheel speed failure specified conditions are met, switching is permitted. When 4 wheels are malfunctioning, switching is prohibited (the wheel speed failure specialized control does not operate). DL indicator light blinks (at 0.2 sec. intervals) or DL and 4LO indicator lights blink (at 0.2 sec. intervals).
    Switching vehicle speed specialized control according to gear shift judgment when M/T vehicle is changed from low to high Determines the gear for an M/T vehicle, and changes the possible low to high switching vehicle speed.

    HINT:
    As long as there is a signal in the ACC frame, the blinking request outputs an illumination request to the combination meter. When communication with the ACC frame is lost, there is determined to be a malfunction and an illumination request is output along with the malfunction. The priority order is determined by the combination meter. The illumination is the first priority.
