System Outline
- Electronic Fuel Injection
This system optimizes the fuel injection timing relative to the basic injection timing. The basic injection timing is calculated to fit the engine conditions and is corrected according to signals from various sensors.
- Electronic Spark Advance
Appropriate ignition is performed according to the basic ignition timing which is calculated to fit the engine conditions after being adjusted according to signals from various sensors.
- Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent
This system optimizes the throttle opening to match the throttle opening calculated to fit the engine conditions and is then adjusted according to signals from various sensors.
- Variable Valve Timing-intelligent
This system improves engine output, reduces exhaust gas emissions and improves fuel consumption by varying the phase of the intake camshaft and exhaust camshaft in accordance with the engine conditions.
- Electric Fan Control
This system switches the cooling fan ON/OFF and controls the fan speed according to the coolant temperature and the condition of the air conditioner.
- Fuel Pump Control
This system switches the fuel pump ON/OFF according to the starter signal and engine speed signal. It can also stop the fuel pump operation if it receives appropriate signals from the airbag sensor assembly center.
It also reduces load on the air conditioner compressor during acceleration in order to maintain vehicle drivability.
- Air Conditioning Cut-Off Control
This system reduces load on the air conditioner compressor during acceleration in order to maintain vehicle drivability.
- Canister Purge Control
This system controls the purge flow volume of the canister according to the coolant temperature and driving condition.
- Cranking Hold Control
This system supplies electricity to the starter from when cranking is started, until the engine starts, in order to prevent the engine start from failing because the key was turned off just before the engine combustion began.
- Oxygen Sensor Control
This system switches the oxygen sensor ON/OFF according to the coolant temperature and driving conditions.
- Diagnosis
This system allows an accurate and detailed diagnosis of failures such as calling the SAE specified diagnosis code data and active test by using the diagnosis tool.
- Fail-Safe
When the engine control module detects any abnormalities in sensor signals, it stops or continues to control the engine by using the standard values in the engine control module.
