REAR SPEED SENSOR (for 4WD): Installation: Installation

HINT: 

• Use the same procedure for RH side and LH side except for the step to install the rear sensor clip.
• If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear drive shaft assembly.

1. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH (for LH Side) 
   1. Install the rear speed sensor with bolt C.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Keep the rear speed sensor tip and sensor installation hole free of foreign matter.

   2. Install the No. 1 sensor clamp with the nut.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire when installing the clamp.

   3. Install the No. 2 sensor clamp with bolt B.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire when installing the clamp.

   4. Install the sensor clip LH.
   5. Install the No. 3 sensor clamp with bolt A.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire when installing the clamp.

   6. Insert the connector and grommet to the inside of the vehicle through the passage hole in the wheel well.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that the grommet's band clamp remains on the outside of the vehicle.

   7. Hold the grommet and pull it from the inside of the vehicle to the outside of the vehicle. Then hold it in place so that it is not tilted.
      NOTE:

      When pulling out the grommet, do not pull on the sensor wire.

   8. Connect the rear speed sensor connector.

2. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH (for RH Side) 
   1. Install the rear speed sensor with bolt C.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Keep the rear speed sensor tip and sensor installation hole free of foreign matter.

   2. Install the No. 1 sensor clamp with the nut.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire when installing the clamp.

   3. Install the No. 2 sensor clamp with bolt B.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire when installing the clamp.

   4. Install the sensor clip.
   5. Install the No. 3 sensor clamp with bolt A.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire when installing the clamp.

   6. Insert the connector and grommet to the inside of the vehicle through the passage hole in the wheel well.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that the grommet's band clamp remains on the outside of the vehicle.

   7. Hold the grommet and pull it from the inside of the vehicle to the outside of the vehicle. Then hold it in place so that it is not tilted.
      NOTE:

   8. Connect the rear speed sensor connector.
3. INSTALL FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE PROTECTOR (for LH Side) 
   1. Install the fuel tank filler pipe protector with the 3 screws.

4. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

   Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

5. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH (for RH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 35
6. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 36
7. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH (for LH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 27
8. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 28
9. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH (for RH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 68
10. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for RH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 69
11. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH (for LH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 62
12. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for LH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 63
13. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
14. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK INNER HINGE COVER (for RH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2

16. CONNECT REAR SEAT CENTER OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 40
17. INSTALL REAR SEAT CENTER HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
18. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 
19. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 7
20. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK INNER HINGE COVER (for LH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 8
21. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK OUTER HINGE COVER (for LH Side)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 9
22. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) 
23. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
24. CHECK FOR REAR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
