Front Speed Sensor: Inspection: Procedure
- INSPECT SENSOR OUTPUT VALUE NOTE:
Resistance inspection using other testers may cause damage to the front speed sensor internal circuit. Be sure to use the Techstream to inspect the front speed sensor.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC-2.
- Select the following PIDs using the Techstream:
- WSPD_SEN_LF (LF wheel-speed sensor)
- WSPD_SEN_RF (RF wheel-speed sensor)
- Start the engine and drive the vehicle.
- Verify that the display of the Techstream shows the same value as the speedometer.
- If there is any malfunction, replace the front speed sensor.

- If there is any malfunction, replace the front speed sensor.
- INSPECT INSTALLATION VISUAL
- Inspect for the following:
- If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the part.
- Excessive play of the front speed sensor
- Deformation of the front speed sensor
- Deformation or damage of the ABS sensor rotor
- Adhering foreign matter
- Inspect for the following:
- INSPECT CLEARANCE, PREPARATION PRIOR
- Remove the front speed sensor.
Refer to REMOVAL
- Remove the wheel hub and steering knuckle as a single unit.
Refer to REMOVAL
- Install the front speed sensor to the removed wheel hub, steering knuckle component, and tighten to the specified torque.
Torque: 9 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf)

- Remove the front speed sensor.
- INSPECT CLEARANCE
- Measure the gap between the front speed sensor and ABS sensor rotor using a feeler gauge.
- If not within the specification, replace the front speed sensor.

1.815 to 2.835 mm (0.0715 to 0.1116 in.)
*a Front Speed Sensor *b ABS Sensor Rotor *c Clearance - If not within the specification, replace the front speed sensor.
- Measure the gap between the front speed sensor and ABS sensor rotor using a feeler gauge.
- INSPECT SERVICING AFTER
- Remove the front speed sensor from the wheel hub, steering knuckle component.
- Install the wheel hub, steering knuckle component.

- Install the front speed sensor.

- Inspect the front wheel alignment.
