Fuel Pressure Sensor: Inspection: Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR 
    1. Voltage Inspection

      HINT: 

      The fuel pressure sensor cannot be removed as a single unit. When replacing the fuel pressure sensor, replace it together with the fuel distributor as a single unit.

      1. Connect the techstream to the DLC-2.
      2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
      3. Start the engine and warm it up completely.
      4. Verify that the fuel pressure sensor output voltage (PID: Fuel pressure sensor) is within the specification.

        Refer to ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST

        Refer to INSPECTION

        If not as specified, replace the fuel distributor.

        Refer to REMOVAL

  2. INSPECT FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR 
    1. Voltage Inspection

      HINT: 

      The fuel tank pressure sensor cannot be removed as a single unit. When replacing the fuel tank pressure sensor, replace it together with the charcoal canister as a single unit.

      1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

        Refer to REMOVAL

      2. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor connector.

        Refer to REMOVAL

      3. Disconnect the fuel tube connectors (quick type) and remove the evaporative hose component (fuel tank side).

        Refer to REMOVAL 

        Refer to REMOVAL

      4. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
      5. Plug one end of the charcoal canister and verify that the output voltage from the fuel tank pressure sensor changes when pressure is applied from the other end.

        If not as specified, replace the charcoal canister.
