Fuel Tank: Installation: Procedure

  1. BREATHER HOSE NO. 3 INSTALLATION NOTE 
    1. Install the breather hose No. 3 as shown in the figure.

      Fuel tank side

      *a Must be bottomed into rib.
      *b Marking
      *c Breather Hose No. 3
      *d 1.0 mm (0.0394 in.) or Less

      Joint pipe side

      *a Marking
      *b Pipe Spool
      *c Breather Hose No. 3
      *d 2.0 mm (0.0788 in.) or Less
  2. BREATHER HOSE NO. 2 INSTALLATION NOTE 
    1. Install the breather hose No. 2 as shown in the figure.

      Breather hose No. 1 side

      *a Marking
      *b Hose shall be bumped to the other party parts.
      *c Breather Hose No. 2
      *d 2.0 mm (0.0788 in.) or Less

      *a Breather Hose No. 2
      *b Marking
      *c 1.0 mm (0.0394 in.) or Less
  3. JOINT HOSE INSTALLATION NOTE 
    1. Install the joint hose as shown in the figure.

      Fuel tank side

      *a Must be bottomed into rib. *b Marking
      *c Joint Hose *d Range of the clamp assembly area.
      *e Up *f Right
      *g 3.0 mm (0.119 in.) or Less *h 8.0 to 12.0 mm (0.315 to 0.472 in.)
      *i 30° *j 45°
      *k Sec. A-A - -

      *a Marking *b Joint Hose
      *c Pad *d The Inset in Even of the Terminal of the Pad

      *g Left *h 3.0 mm (0.119 in.) or Less
      *i 8.0 to 12.0 mm (0.315 to 0.472 in.) *j 45°
      *k 30° *l Sec. B-B
  4. INSTALL FUEL TANK 
    1. Install the fuel pump unit.

      Refer to INSTALLATION

      *1 Joint Hose *2 Breather Hose No. 1
      *3 Breather Hose No. 2 *4 Fuel Tube Connector (Quick Type)
      *5 Fuel Tank Insulator *6 Fuel Tank Strap
      *7 Fuel Tank *8 Breather Hose No. 3
      *9 Joint Pipe *10 Fuel Pump Unit
      *a Charcoal Canister *b Fuel-Filler Pipe
      N*m (kgf*cm, ft.*lbf) : Specified torque - -
    2. Install the joint pipe.
    3. Install the breather hose No. 3.

      See step  1

    4. Install the fuel tank.
    5. Install the fuel tank strap.

      Torque: 26 N*m (265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Install the fuel tank insulator.

      Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf) 

    7. Install the fuel tube connector (quick type).

      Refer to INSTALLATION 

    8. Install the breather hose No. 2.

      See step  2

    9. Install the breather hose No. 1.

      Refer to INSTALLATION 

    10. Install the joint hose.

      See step  3

    11. Install the TWC and heated oxygen sensor as a single unit.

      Refer to INSTALLATION

    12. Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

      *a Parking Brake Cable Bracket
      *b Nut

      Install the parking brake cable bracket as shown in the figure.

    14. Install the fuel tank side cover.

      Refer to INSTALLATION

    15. Connect the following parts:
      • Fuel pump unit connector
      • Fuel tube connector (quick type)

        Refer to INSTALLATION 

    16. Install the service hole cover.

      *a Service Hole Cover
    17. Install the rear seat cushion.

      Refer to INSTALLATION

    18. Level the vehicle.
    19. Refill the fuel.
    20. Complete the "AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION".

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
