Liftgate Kick Sensor Removal And Installation/Replacement

Mobile Repair Possible:  No

Removal Procedure: 

1. Disconnect the 12V Battery negative terminal. Refer to 12V BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION
2. Remove Underbody Rear Air Shield. Refer to UNDERBODY REAR AIR SHIELD REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

3. Cut open the cable ties (1).

   Installation note: Replace cable ties (1).

4. Unlock and disconnect electrical connector (1).

5. Remove both screws (1).

   Torque: 1.2 Nm

6. Unthread and remove the kick sensor (1).

Installation Procedure: 

1. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.

   All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification! 

2. Install Underbody Rear Air Shield. Refer to UNDERBODY REAR AIR SHIELD REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
3. Reconnect the 12V battery negative terminal. Refer to 12V BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION
4. Diagnostics, Programming and Setup. Refer to DIAGNOSTICS, PROGRAMMING AND SETUP USING SCAN TOOL IN SERVICE
