Start Reprogramming Session

This provides the ability to update every ECU module in the vehicle to the latest available software. This is the preferred method to update the vehicle as it checks that all ECU updates are compatible with each other and the current vehicle hardware. Before this can be completed the 'Scan Vehicle' must first be completed as this determines what vehicle hardware is present in the vehicle. Once the vehicle hardware is identified, the matching whole vehicle software package will be determined that is compatible with the vehicle and IDS is now able to complete the vehicle update process.

WARNING: As this process can take a lot of time to update all the ECU modules, first connect the vehicle to an external 12v battery charger. If low voltage ECU shutdown occurs, it is possible the ECU update will fail and the ECU may not be recoverable by IDS which could disable the vehicle.

Click 'Start reprogramming session and the following screen will show the progress of ECUs that require updating. In this example the XGW and MHU require an update and the progress bar shows the status of the reprogramming session for each ECU:

Once the XGW has been completed, IDS will automatically start updating the next ECU which is the MHU in this example:

Once the vehicle update has been completed the following message will be shown:

The vehicle reprogramming session has been completed and all ECUs should show green for software OK status on the health check page.
