Front Side Door Latch Removal And Installation/Replacement

Removal Procedure: 

The procedure for the left-hand component is identical to that for the right-hand side. 

1. Raise the window to its highest position
2. Remove front side door water deflector. Refer to FRONT SIDE DOOR WATER DEFLECTOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
3. Applies only to driver's door: 

   Remove the Front Side Door Lock Cylinder. Refer to FRONT SIDE DOOR LOCK CYLINDER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

4. Remove the bolt (1). Only loosen the door glass rail (2), do not remove.

   Torque: 8 Nm

5. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector (1).

6. Detach front side door inside handle cable retainer (1) from the door.

7. Remove 3 bolts (1).

   Torque: 12 Nm 

   Installation note: Tighten bolts (1) evenly.

8. Remove the front side door latch (1) out of the door cavity.

9. Remove screw (1).

   Torque: 1 Nm 

10. Release latches (arrows) and open the lid (2).

11. Unclip (1) and remove the front side door inside handle cable (2) in the direction of the arrow.

12. Unclip (1) and remove the front side door outside handle cable (2) in the direction of the arrow.

Replacement Procedure:

Applies only to driver's door: 

1. Remove connecting rod (1).

Installation Procedure: 

1. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.

   All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification! 

2. Applies only to driver's door: 

   Install the Front Side Door Lock Cylinder. Refer to FRONT SIDE DOOR LOCK CYLINDER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT 

3. Install front side door water deflector. Refer to FRONT SIDE DOOR WATER DEFLECTOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
