Outside Mirror Components:
Technical Description:
Side mirrors are used to help the driver to see areas behind and to the sides of the vehicle which are outside of the driver's peripheral vision ("blind spot").
- The outside mirrors are operated by means of the touch display (HMI).
- The mirror functions are controlled by the BCM.
- The MFS communicates with the BCM via the LIN bus of the gateway (XGW).
- The display signal for blind spot recognition is received from the ADAS control unit via the XGW.
The outside mirrors have the following functions:

- The glass curvature for the LH exterior mirror differs between VN/EU (curved) and US (flat).
- The RH mirror is the same for VN/EU and US vehicles.

Operation:
Adjusting the Outside Mirrors
The mirrors are adjusted via the infotainment display and the steering wheel multi-function switches (MFS).
- Select the plan view of the vehicle in the touch display and, having selected the tracking view, press the tracking view to activate the button for the outside mirrors.
- Press one of the buttons for either the left - or right-hand outside mirror.
- Press "Unfold" if the outside mirrors are still folded in, otherwise no settings can be made for them.
- Use the controls to the left of the steering wheel to adjust the outside mirror you have selected.
- Press the button for the mirror that still needs to be adjusted, or briefly press "OK" on the controls to the left of the steering wheel to switch the mirror needing to be adjusted.
- Use the controls to the left of the steering wheel to adjust the outside mirror you have selected.
- Press "X" or outside of the window to close the outside mirror settings, otherwise the window will automatically close after 6 seconds.
- Press "Save" to confirm your settings, otherwise they will be lost the next time you start the vehicle.
Automatic Folding/Lowering
- Press the "Settings" icon and select the "Vehicle Settings" button.
- Press the "Mirrors" button.
- Select the settings you require.
- Press "X" or outside of the window to close the outside mirror settings, otherwise the window will automatically close after 6 seconds.
Heated Outside Mirror
The outside mirror heating is connected to the rear window heating.
