Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Description and Operation

The coolant temperature sensor, located in the coolant thermostat housing, measures the coolant temperature and sends an electrical signal to the ECU. This signal is used in calculations concerning fuel enrichment at different engine operating temperatures.
