Multi-Function Indicator Check Mode Test

If the display values for the momentary fuel consumption, oil temperature or outside air temperature are inaccurate, perform check mode test before attempting repairs.

1. Turn ignition on. Press Multi-Funktions-Anzeige (MFA) mode select switch. Turn ignition off, then back on and hold MFA mode select switch. The value for momentary fuel consumption appears in display window.
2. Press and release mode select switch to call up oil temperature, the outside air temperature. The selected function and data should appear in the display window.
3. For momentary fuel consumption, at speeds below 8 MPH (8 km/h), the value is in gallons/hour or liters/hour. Oil temperature is shown in a range of 122°F (50°C) to 320°F (160°C), at temperatures below 122°F (50°C) dashes (- - -) appear. Outside air temperature is shown in a range of -40°F (-40°C) to 122°F (50°C). If temperature sensor is not connected -40°F (-40°C) will be displayed.
