Test sequence

• Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (VAG 1552) and select "Engine Electronics" address word 01 VAG 1551 SCAN TOOL (ST), CONNECTING AND SELECTING ENGINE CONTROL MODULE . Engine must be running at idle speed.

• Press buttons -0- and -8- to select "Read Measuring Value Block" function 08 and press -Q- button to confirm input.

• Press buttons -0-, -1- and -0- to input display group 010 and press -Q- button to confirm input.

• Check measured value in display field 3:

  Specification: 0 to 5°;

• Check measured value in display field 4:

  Specification: 0 to 12° BTDC (max 2.0° deviation from display field 3

If specifications not obtained. See THROTTLE VALVE CONTROL MODULE, CHECKING

If specifications obtained:

• Generate readiness code. See READINESS CODE, GENERATING .
• Press --> button.
• Press buttons -0- and -6- to select "End Output" function 06 and press -Q- button to confirm input.
