Using Power Windows With Ignition Off
The power windows can still be used for about 10 minutes after the ignition is switched off even if the ignition key has been removed as long as the driver's door or passenger's door are not opened. The automatic closing feature (one touch up) does not work once the ignition has been switched off. The window can only be closed as long as the switch is activated.
If the driver's or the passenger's windows are hard to close because of stiffness or are obstructed by an object when closing (pinch protection) the window will open immediately. In this case the window can be closed again only when the ignition is witched on. On a vehicle with the power locking system, the windows can also be closed or opened from the outside. To do this, the key must be held in the close or open position in the lock on the driver's door. The window closes WITHOUT pinch protection.
