Check Control Module Version
- Connect scan tool. See Figure
.
- Initiate On Board Diagnostic. See INITIATING ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD)
under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Switch printer on via the "PRINT" button (indicator lamp in button lights up). Indicated on scan tool display:
- Rapid data transfer HELP
- Select function XX
- Press buttons "1" and "0." Indicated on scan tool display:
- Rapid data transfer Q
- 01 - Check control module version
- Press "Q" button to confirm input.
- VAG 1551 scan tool display indicates control module coding. A sample display would appear as follows:
- 7D0959800B Rad-freq control mod 0001
- Coding 00001 WSC XXXXX
- The explanation of the display in step 6
is:
- 7D0 959 800 B = Part No. of control module (for current control module version, see parts catalog)
- Radio-frequency control module = system identification
- 0001 = Program version number
- Coding 00001 Coding version
- WSC = Workshop code
- Press forward (right) arrow button. Indicated on scan tool display:
