Ignition System Component Overview

Knock Sensor 1 -G61-
- On the front of the cylinder head, under the intake manifold.
- Removing and installing, refer to KNOCK SENSOR 1 G61 .
- The contacts are gold plated.
Bolt
- 20 Nm
- The tightening specification influences the function of the knock sensor.
Ignition Coil with Power Output Stage -N70, N127, N291, N292-
- Removing and installing, refer to IGNITION COIL WITH POWER OUTPUT STAGE .
Spark Plug
- 25 Nm
- Type and electrode gap, refer to TECHNICAL DATA AND SPARK PLUGS .
- Remove and install using the spark plug removal tool 3122 B.
O-ring
- Always replace.
Engine Speed Sensor -G28-
- On the lower left front of the cylinder block, next to the oil separator. Refer to Fig 2.
- Removing and installing, refer to ENGINE SPEED SENSOR G28 .
Bolt
- 10 Nm
Camshaft Position Sensor -G40-
- On the front of the cylinder head cover.
- The contacts are gold plated.
