B194F - Power Liftgate Temperature Sensor Circuit Performance: Notes

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to appropriate Wiring Diagram

• >>When Monitored:<< Whenever the power liftgate is awake.
• >>Set Condition:<< The power liftgate module has detected the temperature it senses does not agree with the temperature that the PCM is sensing.

Possible Causes
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE DTC
Q78 RIGHT PINCH SENSOR SIGNAL WIRE OPEN
Q78 RIGHT PINCH SENSOR SIGNAL WIRE SHORT TO GROUND
Q901 LOGIC GROUND OPEN
TEMPERATURE SENSOR OUT OF RANGE
POWER LIFTGATE MODULE

Test Step 1 - Check For DTCs

• With the scan tool, record DTCs and any liftgate inhibitors.
• Erase DTCs.
• Turn the ignition OFF, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, check for DTCs.

Does the scan tool display B194F - Power Liftgate Temperature Sensor Circuit Performance?

Yes

• Go to Test Step 2 Test Step 2 - Check For Other Pinch Sensor DTCs 

No

• Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
