J104 Abs Control Module

The ESC unit is located on the right longitudinal member in the engine compartment. It is made of the ABS Control Module -J104- and the hydraulic unit. The ABS/ESC Continental MK 100 is used on all 2015 Golf vehicles.

The Rotation Rate Sensor -G202-, the Transverse Acceleration Sensor -G200- and the Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor -G251- are integrated into ABS Control Module -J104-.

The ABS control module is still responsible for Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The TPMS makes indirect measurements using wheel speed sensor signals. Drivers are warned about tire pressure loss, even in the event of a simultaneous loss of pressure in all four tires.

Along with the usual functions (for example, ABS, ESC, ASR, etc.), the ESC unit is also responsible for automatic initiation of a vehicle braking maneuver when the "multi-collision brake" driver assist system is activated.
