What's New?
The MQB concept is the third revolutionary innovation in the volume production of cars. This concept and platform strategy reduces the complexity of components within multiple vehicle classes.
The new transverse matrix strategy eliminates many differences between the vehicle classes, allowing the technology to be used for more than one Group brand and be used in different vehicle classes and models.
This approach reduces the diversity of component and system versions even more than the previous development steps. Planning and production, but also repair and maintenance scopes, is simplified and reduces costs. One example of this is a uniform engine installation position and assembly mounting.
Customers will find that the equipment features have not only changed, but more vehicle options are available. Features on an A-class vehicle may be the same features and components as those on a C-class vehicle.
