Front Longitudinal Member

The longitudinal member thickness is 2.0 mm for the inner C-profiles and 1.5 mm for the end plates. The longitudinal member transition under the front floor is made of ultra-high strength 2.0 mm steel (hot-formed). Two different strengths are used for the rear section of the longitudinal member. The front area is 1.75 mm thick and the rear area 1.0 mm thick.

Any external forces to the front of the vehicle are distributed from the ultra-high strength single piece tunnel through the upper and lower footwell cross members (forming the profile in the center of the vehicle) and outwards through the ultra-high strength inner side members.

The rigidity was increased and the weight was lowered by placing the transmission mount in the longitudinal member. The height of the longitudinal member was increased by 25%.
