Selector Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.
Do not lubricate the selector lever cable.
-- Install the heat shield under the shift mechanism.
-- Reconnect exhaust system making sure it is not under stress. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) .
-- Install the front and rear tunnel braces on the body. Refer to TUNNEL BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If removed, install the Access/Start System Antenna 1 in Vehicle Interior -R138-. Refer to ACCESS/START SYSTEM ANTENNA 1 IN VEHICLE INTERIOR -R138-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the center console. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the selector lever handle. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .
-- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, CHECKING .
-- Install the complete air filter housing:
- Gasoline engine. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Diesel engine. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the engine cover, if it was removed earlier. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) .
